My Journey to Heart Centric Healing

Hi, I’m Shian a mother, a daughter and friend with a HR professional background, and someone who understands the weight of stress and burnout firsthand. Before I became a guide for others, I was the one searching for answers, trying to navigate life’s challenges while holding everything together.

Losing Myself in Stress & Burnout

As a teenager, I was drawn to becoming a counsellor, wanting to support others. However life led me down a different path, I pursued a Law degree, which took me into employment law and eventually into HR within the Health Social Care Sector.

 

While I enjoyed my work and found meaning in it, over time the pressure of juggling career demands, personal struggles, and the silent expectation to always “keep going” left me feeling exhausted, disconnected, and stuck in survival mode. I was so busy caring for others at work, at home, in every aspect of my life that I lost touch with myself.

 

Stress didn’t just live in my mind it took root in my body, drained my emotions, and silently unravelled my well being and I ignored the warning. But I told myself the same lie so many others do:

"I just need to push through and get through this."

When the World Stopped, My Perspective Shifted

Then came the COVID 19 pandemic, a global crisis that brought uncertainty, stress and burnout as the next silent epidemic for so many including me. Burnout wasn’t just exhaustion it was an epidemic of disconnection.

In my role in HR, I witnessed how deeply stress / burnout eroded employees, not just their health but their ability to think impacting work performance, their ability to connect and feel themselves impacting relationships, personal life and overall well being. I saw employees struggling under the weight of exhaustion, disconnected from themselves and each other. Employees who were once vibrant became shadows of who they used to be. Their bodies showed up to work, but their energy, creativity, and resilience had long checked out.

I saw it in others. And I felt something within me but could put my finger on what it was.

I realised policies and procedures weren’t enough. We didn’t need just another mental health initiative. What was truly needed was human centred connections, emotional safety, and a way to move beyond survival mode. Support that reached deeper than the surface.

Yet fear, along with deeply ingrained subconscious patterns, beliefs shaped by past experiences, societal pressures, and self doubt kept many feeling isolated and stuck. So many had deeply ingrained conditioning that told them suffering was just part of the job. Without the right supportive framework, employees struggled to access the support and resilience that was already within them.

While I was supporting others, my own personal challenges continued. The emotional toll of the pandemic, the pressure to be strong for those around me, and the weight of my personal struggles that had been building over the years pushed me to my breaking point.

 

I felt like I was carrying the world on my shoulders, yet inside, I was running on empty.

Without realising it, I had been holding space for everyone except myself.

I knew something had to change.

Listening to Stress/ Burnout Instead of Fighting It

I didn’t want a temporary fix with a band aid—I wanted true transformation. So, I turned inward. I immersed myself in holistic therapies, neuroscience based coaching, somatic therapy and energy work, searching for a deeper way to heal.

What I discovered changed everything.

Stress and burnout weren’t my enemies they were messengers. It was my body’s way of saying, "You can’t keep living like this." It was my heart’s way of whispering, "There’s another way."  Stress / Burnout were calling me to slow down, heal, and reconnect with my true self before they took over.

 

Through a powerful blend of science and soul neuroscience based coaching. hypnotherapy, NLP, somatic therapy, coaching, and energy work—I discovered how to:

That’s why I created Heart Centric Wellness & Coaching a space for transformation rooted in compassion, presence, and deep human connection.

  • Burnout isn’t inevitable it’s preventable when you listen to what your body and mind need.

  • You don’t have to keep pushing through true healing begins when you prioritise your well being.

 

Through Heart Centric Wellness and Coaching, I blend science and human connection combining neuroscience backed coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP, somatic therapy, and energy healing to create deep, lasting change.
